While the movie had multiple flaws in story flow and pace, I don't think Real was the flop material it turned out to be in the end. The story could've been handled much better and Kim Soo-hyun's performance was brilliant but even his acting was shadowed by the pretentious confusion the movie caused. It had good light use though, so the visuals deserve some praise. I can see what they aimed with a modern touch to the classic Korean Revenge Cinema genre but I'm afraid they failed. Still, as I said, I've seen worse movies that got weirdly praises for being below average and the way this film was slandered by the Korean audience is a bit interesting to me. I hope to see actor Kim in more daring roles after seeing how well he did in this one, but due to the failure of the movie itself I sadly believe he will ignores projects as such from now on.
